What is the Kids Cruise?

Our Kids Cruise is an audio tour for our smallest visitors. This interactive audio story comes with a booklet with games, pencils & a pair of real pirate-binoculars and is included with every children’s ticket. During the regular cruise, the kids listen to their own story (available in Dutch & English through our free Personal Audio System) and enjoy an adventure with our friends Harold & Johnny. And hopefully become certified Freshwater Pirates!

Optional: add a snackbox to your booking and enjoy some snacks and drinks during your canal cruise! The snackbox includes chips, popcorn, stroopwafels, salted peanuts and a drink of your choice.

What is included with the Kids Cruise?

The Kids Cruise is not a seperate cruise, it’s an audio tour with a complimentary activity package that you get for free with every child ticket for the City Canal Cruise of Blue Boat Company. This way kids don’t get bored: after all, they’re listening to an exciting audio story while working on fun tasks in the booklet. Also great for parents who are looking for some peace and quiet and want to enjoy the beautiful views of Amsterdam without having to entertain their kids! After all, the canal belt is UNESCO World Heritage and worth admiring!

• 75 minute cruise
• Audio story in Dutch or English
• Includes a fun booklet, pencils and pirate binoculars

Are the canal cruises in Amsterdam of Blue Boat also wheelchair accessible?

Yes, Blue Boat is the only canal cruise company that has wheelchair accessible boats. If there’s a passenger in a wheelchair in the group, a reservation must be made in advance. Select one of the following time slots to get on a boat that is wheelchair accessible: 10:30 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 3:30 PM and 5 PM. Then contact our reservations department to inform us that there is a wheelchair in the group as we can only have 3 wheelchairs on board at the same time. Where can I book tickets for the Kids Cruise?

You can easily book tickets for the Kids Cruise on our website. Our booking tool lets you book tickets for both adults and children. You will then receive a confirmation email with your tickets from us. You can show your ticket on your mobile phone while boarding – no need to print it out!

Of course you can also book your tickets on site at the ticketing office, but then there is always the possibility that our boats are already fully booked. For this reason, and to avoid crowds at our cash registers, we always recommend that you book your tickets online in advance. Do you have an iAmsterdam City Card? It is not possible to make a reservation via our website. You can only book a timeslot at our ticket office. Please visit one of our ticket offices to book a timeslot or to hop on the first available cruise.

Where do I board my City Canal Cruise with kids?

We have two docks that are located central in Amsterdam. Both departure locations are close to all kinds of attractions and museums.

Location 1: Blue Boat dock at Stadhouderskade 550 (opposite the Heineken Experience)
Location 2: Blue Boat dock at Stadhouderskade 501 (opposite the Hard Rock Cafe)

We kindly request you to be present at your boarding location 15 minutes in advance.
