When the evenings grow longer and Amsterdam wraps itself in winter stillness, the city’s waterways begin to sparkle. During the Amsterdam Light Festival, the canal belt is transformed into an open-air museum of light art. And the best way to admire it? From the water, comfortably seated in a heated and covered canal boat.
Our special Amsterdam Light Festival cruise lasts approximately 90 minutes and takes you past more than twenty light artworks by international artists. With a beautiful view all around you, you will discover the city as you have never seen it before.
What can you expect from this cruise?
This covered canal cruise is the perfect way to experience the festival in comfort. Our boats are heated, covered and equipped with a Personal Audio System. This allows you to listen to the official story of the Amsterdam Light Festival, available in Dutch and English.
During this tour, you will see light installations specially designed for the 14th edition of the festival, with the theme Legacy. What do we leave behind for future generations? And what will we take with us from the past? Each installation tells its own story, from personal memories to universal questions about legacy.
Practical information
- Duration: approx. 90 minutes
- When: daily from 27 November 2025 to 18 January 2026
- Times: between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. (except on 25 and 31 December)
- Audio guide: available in English, Dutch and German
- Departure point: Stadhouderskade 501 (opposite the Hard Rock Café)
- Wheelchair accessible: yes, select one of the following time slots for the wheelchair accessible boats: 5 PM and 7 PM. Then, please contact our reservations department to inform us that there is a wheelchair in the group, as we can only accommodate 3 wheelchairs on board at the same time.
