During this cruise through the canals of Amsterdam you pass by a lot of places that are all -one way or another-  connected to works of art from the collection of the Rijksmuseum. Where did Rembrandt live? Where did he paint his famous painting "The Nightwatch"? And where did they hang criminals, which was quite common in those days? The unique audio commentary let's you experience all these stories! And in the souvenir booklet that comes with the package deal, you can see the art works that are mentioned in the story. On board, you can choose between a Dutch and an English story through our Personal Audio System.

Exhibition at the Rijksmuseum

In the 17th century, the city of Amsterdam grew like never before. Trade flourished and they rapidly build the canal system. Rich tradesmen build large palace-like houses and lots of artists moved to Amsterdam, as it was considered "THE place to be". In a way, Amsterdam was the center of the world! At the Rijksmuseum they have lots of works of art from this period. Enormous doll houses reprisenting the large canal houses, portrets of the rich and famous and of course the highlight of the collection, Rembrandt's "The Nightwatch"!

Extra: The Rembrandt House

With the Deluxe ticket you can also visit the Rembrandt House. Thsi museum is situated in the house were famous Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn lived from 1639 till 1658. In the Rijks Museum you can see his most famous painting, The Nightwatch.
