Green Label; Zero-emission!

At the moment, Blue Boat Company has a fleet consisting of 8 boats, two of which are powered by electricity, the “Vossius” and the “Barlaeus”. We are very proud to have two boats that use “green electricity” to make our contribution to cleaner air.

What makes these boats unique is their Inline-thruster, a device consisting of an electric motor as well as a propeller. Using this system saves a considerable amount of energy. The boat derives its energy from about 200 batteries, all built into the ship. The batteries are powered by green electricity (electricity gained from environmentally friendly sources, such as solar energy), which makes these boats very environmentally friendly AND very quiet!

These two ships are also equiped with a flexible interior, just like all other Blue Boat Company vessels. Additionally, these new boats have luxurious wooden floors, a wheelchair elevator and a mobile kitchen/bar unit, making them very flexible and offering a lot of creative possibilities.

World wide, these boats are first using this technique which made it an exiting project for Blue Boat Company. Thanks to Voith Netherlands, the manufacturer of this technique, it turned out to be a big success. Needless to say, we are very pround of our “zero-emission” boats!.
